Reading

The IELTS Reading Test has a time span of 1 hour. However, the test for both General and Academic modules would be different i.e. in terms of Language. Also, the test for candidates of General Module will be easy while the candidates for the Academic Modules would be a little complicated. Test Pattern: The Academic Module will consist of three passages while the General Module IELTS Reading test will have five passages. However, the number of questions will remain the same for both the modules i.e. 40.Although the reading passage subjects are different but each one of it is of academic nature.

Writing

The IELTS Writing Test is conducted to analyze your skills and ability to write correctly. Also, the test determines how well you can pen down your opinions and ideas in the exact ways keeping grammar and vocabulary in mind. IELTS Writing Time Duration The IELTS written test lasts for one hour. So, before you begin with your written test, make sure you don’t spend more than 20 minutes on Task 1 and 40 minutes on Task 2, as no extra time will be allotted. Also, for the Task1, you need to write at least 150 words and for Task2 minimum 250 words, so be particular about your word limit.

Listening

The Listening Test comprises of 4 sections and each has 10 questions. In the first section, there will be a conversation between 2 people and you will hear it. In second section, there will be a monologue that will be set on every social situation. Third test will consist of 4 people doing conversation on educational or training context. At last, the 4 section will again have a monologue on a academic subject. In total, there will be 40 questions and at the end of each part, you will get time to go through your answers. You will also get 10 minutes to transfer your answers to the answer sheet at the end of the full IELTS listening test. You need to carefully listen, as the recording will be played only once.
